How to download your BBVA transactions and import them into Aurio

Updated 24 September 2026

Download your account transactions from BBVA online banking as Excel and upload the file to Aurio from Accounts. Aurio reads the date, description and signed amount straight from the file, shows you a review before saving and categorises every transaction. No bank connection or credentials needed.

How to download your BBVA statement

  1. Log in to BBVA online banking and open the account whose transactions you want to export.
  2. Go to that account’s transaction list and pick the period you need.
  3. Use the option to download or export the transactions and choose Excel.
  4. Keep the file exactly as BBVA downloads it: there is no need to open or edit it.
  5. In Aurio, go to Accounts → Import, choose the destination account and upload the file.

Online banking menus change from time to time. If you cannot find an option, check the official BBVA help.

Which format to choose for Aurio

Recommended format: Excel (XLSX). Formats BBVA offers: Excel (XLSX), PDF.

The BBVA Excel file has one column per field (Fecha, F. Valor or Fecha valor, Concepto, Movimiento, Importe, Divisa…). Aurio uses Concepto as the description, the signed Importe and the currency from the file itself. Some downloads arrive as .xlsx and others as .xls: Aurio accepts both.

We tested this format with a synthetic sample file (no real data) that mirrors the columns of the BBVA statement. If BBVA changes its file layout and something looks off, the review will show you before anything is saved.

What Aurio does when you import

  • Before anything is saved you get a review of every transaction: date, amount and description, so you can fix whatever needs fixing.
  • If you upload a period you already imported, repeated transactions are flagged as duplicates in the review.
  • Each transaction is categorised automatically: first with your rules and Aurio's, then, if needed, with AI on tokenised data, never with your name or IBAN.
  • If the file does not say which amounts are spending and which are income, Aurio warns you instead of silently guessing.
  • You do not need to connect your bank or give us your credentials: you download the file and decide what to upload.

Frequently asked questions

Can I import the BBVA statement as a PDF?

Aurio also accepts PDF statements, but the Excel file is more reliable: every field has its own column and there is no page layout to interpret.

Which date does Aurio use, the transaction date or the value date?

When the file has both, Aurio takes the value date. It usually matches the transaction date or differs by a day or two.

Do I need to connect my BBVA account to Aurio?

No. Importing a file needs no bank connection and no credentials: you download the Excel file from BBVA and decide what to upload.
